How to check Hard Drive error
Do you aware that your computer is getting unbearable slow? Hard Drive errors are the main cause of computer slow. What is more is that Hard Drive can cause many other serious computer problems such like computer can not start. How importance the hard drive is! Due to data are restored on hard disk, the hard disk is prone to get corrupted. Can we check hard drive error for free? Windows provides us some good utility tools. Follow the instruction to check errors on your hard drive and fix them.
To diagnose the errors on your hard drive, you will use the Error-checking. Before running this error detection tool, please end all tasks, programs and WebPages. The tool will check the Bad Sectors on the Hard Disk and provide you a full log.
Here is the step by step guide
1. Open My Computer.
2. Right-click the hard disk volume you want to check error and point to Properties.
3. Switch to the Tools tab of on the top, click the Check Now button in the Error-checking section.
4. In the Check Disk dialog box, select the Scan for and attempt recovery of bad sectors check box, and then click Start.
If you find your hard disk is no longer runs well, you can use chkdsk fix it.
The chkdsk is the command for check and repair hard drive problems by using “Run”. It calls the popular hard disk utility that enables you to check and repair hard drive problems. It is easy, just Go to Start Menu and select Run > type in the command “chkdsk”.
By the way, doing Defragment helps you physically organize the contents of the disk to store the pieces of each file close together and contiguously. You can run Defragmenter or use a registry clean tool.
